Introduction
To help you manage customers more efficiently, Trustoo Loyalty provides an Auto-Tagging feature.
When a new customer signs up through Trustoo Loyalty onsite widgets (such as popups or the loyalty page), the system automatically applies a tag in Shopify (e.g., Acquired_via_loyalty
).
This makes it easy to:
Identify customers acquired through loyalty programs
Filter and target loyalty members in marketing campaigns
Integrate and analyze loyalty data across your systems
How It Works
Any new customer who clicks on Trustoo Loyalty content and signs up within 24 hours will be automatically tagged.
Actions tracked for analytics include sign-ups through:
Popups
Widget panel
Loyalty page
Redeem at checkout
Points at checkout
⚠️ Attention:
Customer actions on the checkout page may not always be tagged.
Checkout activity is only tracked within the same browsing session.
Configuring Auto-Tagging
⚠️ Note: This feature is only available on the Growth Plan and above.
Follow these steps to enable auto-tagging:
Go to the Preferences > Smart tags section.
Click on Smart customer tagging.
Enable the toggle for Tag new customers acquired via loyalty programs.
(Optional) Enter your preferred tag name (e.g.,
Acquired_via_loyalty
).
Once enabled, the system will automatically tag all new customers acquired through your loyalty program.
Common Questions
Can I customize the tag name?
Yes. You can enter any preferred tag name in the configuration settings instead of using the default. Will existing customers be tagged?
No. Tags are only applied to newly registered customers. Existing customers will not be re-tagged.If I disable this feature, will previously tagged customers lose their tags?
No. Disabling the feature only stops future tagging. Tags already applied will remain in Shopify. How can I use these tags for marketing campaigns?
Once tags are applied, you can use them to segment customers in Klaviyo or other marketing tools. For example, create an automated workflow that sends a welcome email to customers tagged asAcquired_via_loyalty
. This email could:
Thank them for joining your loyalty program
Introduce the benefits and rewards available
Provide tips on how to start earning points or redeeming rewards
By targeting only loyalty-acquired customers, you can improve engagement and encourage repeat purchases.
