Managing Customer Points in Bulk with CSV

Updated over a week ago

Introduction

There are times when you may need to update the points balances for many customers at once, such as launching your loyalty program, migrating from another provider, or issuing bonus points due to unexpected store downtime. The most efficient way to make these bulk changes is by importing a CSV (comma-separated values) file.

How to Update Customer Points Using a CSV File

Option 1: Download the Loloyal CSV template to adjust the data, and import the file when finished.

Please follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Customers section and select Import Customer Points.

2. Select how to identify customers and choose the points adjustment method. Then download the template file, fill in the required details, and save it.

3. Once your CSV file is ready, click Add files to upload it. Then click Import and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process.

Option 2: Export your existing customer list and modify the necessary fields.

If you'd like to start with your current customer data:

  1. Navigate to Customers in your Loloyal Admin.

  2. Export the list.

  3. Retain only the email, phone, and points columns for modification.

  4. Save as CSV.

⚠️ Important: Do not use Mac’s Numbers app for CSV creation, it does not export files in the correct format. Use Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets instead.
