Customizing Automated Loyalty Emails

Introduction

Send email notifications to your customers about their Loyalty progress, rewards, and referrals to engage them more effectively. To make these communications more personal, you can customize the notifications, adding a personal touch when your customers receive them.


Email notifications available

The following emails are automatically sent through Loloyal:

  • Points earned

  • Reward unlocked

  • Birthday reward

  • Referral coupon reward

  • Referrer points reward

  • VIP tier achieved

  • Points / Reward expiry


Customizing Loyalty email content

1. Go to Program > Email

2. Click on the notification you want to customize

3. Customize the email in the fields below:

A. Banner image - Customize the store banner background image.

B. Translations - Customize your email languages.

Tip: When you enable the automatic multi-language function, emails will be sent in your customer's preferred language.

C. Content - Customize your email content.

  • Subject - The subject line of the email

  • Main content - Edit heading and secondary text of the email copy

D. Button text - The text of the button that brings the customer to your store

E. Button trigger - Set up email buttons that trigger to your specific store URL, as well as pages that open the Loyalty Panel.

4. Save changes

5. Make sure to turn the email status ON.


Automatic multi-language translation

Multilingual emails will be sent automatically in your customers' preferred language. If you disable this feature, emails will be sent in the default language.

Tip: To add more widget languages, please navigate to Brand Style > Translation > Add languages. Learn more about configuring multilingual.


Email Design

1. Logo - Customize your store Logo image to match your brand.

2. Button - Button color and Text color

3. Translations - Customize your email languages.

Tip: When you enable the automatic multi-language function, emails will be sent in your customer's preferred language.

4. Footer content

The email footer provides essential contact information and an unsubscribe link to ensure compliance with email marketing regulations.

You can also customize the footer of your email by entering the desired text, as shown below:

  • Footer Text - Provides additional context or information, such as the company name and additional contact details

  • Unsubscribe Text - Offers recipients a clear and straightforward way to opt out of receiving future emails, and is essential for compliance with email marketing regulations

Sending test emails

Use our test emails to ensure that the design and content of your email function correctly before sending it to your customers.

  1. In the template editor, click on Send test email

  2. Enter the recipient's email address and confirm by clicking Send Test Email.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip: Emails may appear different based on email clients. Only 10 test emails can send per day.


Email variables

The text within curly brackets in the email notification fields are placeholders called variables. When emails are sent, these variables are replaced with the relevant data. Below is a list of all the variables used in emails and what they output in the delivered message.

πŸ“ Note: If the text displayed in place of a variable contains words, they can be translated on the Translation page.


Sender settings

You can adjust the name that is displayed on your emails, as well as the email address that replies will go to.

  1. Go to Preferences > Email

  2. Fill in the fields under email settings

    1. Sender name - The name visible to customers in their inbox

    2. Reply-to email - Specify an email for customers to reply to your emails

  3. Click Save.


Explicit opt-in

For cases when you want emails to be sent to those who want to hear from you, you can enable the Require Explicit Email Opt-In level so that Loloyal only notifies customers whose marketing status is shown as Subscribed in Shopify.

  1. Go to Preferences > Email

  2. Scroll down to Require explicit Opt-In

  3. Toggle the switch to ON

  4. Click Save
